Cobbers, Goose-eggs, and lights out!

For those of you that don't know...I graduated from a little college in Minnesota called Concordia...where our mascot is a cob of corn (aka Kernal). No joke. :) It's a family tradition...my sisters and my brother-in-law graduated, and our mom started her college career there.

Our friends, Dale and Mary, sent Henri his first official Concordia gear. He was really excited! He clapped as soon as he had on his hoodie...maybe he'll be a Cobber, too??

Look at my bottom teeth...this is the best picture we have of them...
I might need a Cobber bib for my cool new sweatshirt. :)

We had a rough week with falls. Henri has decided that he is ready to walk, stand, move and wants to do everything independently. This was a photo taken .5 seconds before Henri decided he was ready to take a spin on Lightning McQueen all by himself...

Needless to say...he didn't fare too well. Here is a picture of his head--after not one...but two wrecks within 3 minutes. Note the goose-egg over his left eye. Ouch.

Henri loves to be outside. When it is sunny out...which fortunately for Florida is almost every day...he can't wait to go to the park, go for a walk, or just hang out. I brought him home early...he went straight to the back door and plastered his body on the glass. Maybe that was his hint...

I love the outdoors!

Tonight we had a BBQ for our friends, Matt and Erin, who are moving to Gainsville. Henri spent almost all-day outside. This morning we went for a walk and breakfast with friends...then we came home and headed over to Oakmont Lane. He was a trooper...played outside from 3-7...enjoyed his first hamburger bun...and completely exhausted himself. On the 10-block drive home...he crashed. He was so tired...that he didn't wake up getting out of the car, changing his clothes, or taking a bath. I would have skipped the bath...but with two bonfires started with a chemically treated 20-year old log...he smelled like camp. We both did. Luckily...it was the most peaceful diaper change/bath/clothing change we have ever had...he was sound asleep...and didn't even wiggle!

Happy Daylight Savings time...more later this week...

  1. THAT is hilarious! I have never seen a kid sleep through a bath---I'm sure that was hysterical!

He's just precious. Love the shoes! ;)
