Made it to JFK in NYC

Today we start our journey to bring our little Lili home to the States. While we are so excited to have her join us...I can't say that I wasn't a little teary leaving Henri behind. Even though I know that he is happier at home with his Grandma...and would be miserable with us now...I still miss that little toot. :(

We made it to JFK...and are just waiting for our flight to take-off. It's really nice...because we have internet access...and can catch up on a variety of projects. :) Here are a few shots of our journey so far...

Our little Henri getting up this morning....

We're off...leaving Orlando...

Wow...all those bags! Three are for the transition house...the red suitcase is Lili's...and the two smaller carry-ons are for Jeff and my clothes. A pain now...but on the return...will be a breeze.

JFK...here we are....

Skyping with mom and Henri...he's so sweet...

Trying to Skype in the middle of the airport...

Watching World Cup mania...USA vs. England...most everying is cheering for the Brits...score is tied...go USA!

We both can't wait to meet our little Lili. She is also such a love...and we can't wait to give her lots of hugs and kisses. :) I don't think we will be able to blog from Ethiopia...we will try...but will update Facebook if we can. More to come....

Memorial Day at the Beach

As you can see...I'm having a pang of guilt for not updating the blog in so long...so during my lunch hour...I have now posted four posts. :) This was one of my all-time favorite days with Henri. He absolutely loves the water...and LOVED the beach! We went with friends...here are a few shots from the day...

Little Henri in his big boy beach chair (a birthday present--thank you!):

Playing in his sand pit...he was covered in sand...but loved every minute of it:

Showing off his sand toys...he loved the rake. Loved it so much that he used it to comb his hair. Yikes...fun times in the bath later that night trying to get all the sand out. :)

I will try to post from Ethiopia...but last time could not access our blog. I will update Facebook...so follow our trip there...and we'll have lots of posts when we return with baby Lili in tow!

Henri's first birthday

I can't believe our sweet baby boy is already a year old! We celebrated his birthday on the actual day, June 1, with a small party in the park near our home. Nothing fancy...pizza and cake...but Henri was able to do his favorite...play outside!

Mom and the Birthday boy:

The Park:

Henri and Karina...Nico is on the swings:

Our friend, Nikki...and baby S:

The great news about the party at the park...no clean-up at the house. Bad news...no air conditioning. It was so hot...the monkey's face melted off Henri's cake:

Getting ready for the action:

Lots of good wishes for our little one:

Yum...a gooey cake mess:

More of a mess:

So messy that nothing could be salvaged...had to be stripped to my onesie...where I then discovered the melting bag of ice on the ground:

My new favorite place to play...the water:

So happy splashing in that cool water:

While everyone else played on the slides:

I finally let my daddy hold me:

Me and my buddy, Nico:

And my good friend, Baby S:

a great first birthday!

and then the walk home...

Just in time to beat the rain:
Happy 1st Birthday to our sweet Henrik!

Our little Lili...

We have been a bit swamped these last few weeks. Jeff's graduation, company, and now we are heading out to bring our little Lili home. It will be a very quick trip--which we are glad because our little Henri is staying home. My mom is coming to keep Henri on schedule--despite all of the transitions over the past few weeks. Here are a few shots of our little Lili...the latest photos we have received...she is now almost 5 months old and weighs about 11 lbs. More to come...

Vintage Henri

Someone who saw our blog had pictures of Henri when they were picking up their child. Look at our sweet little Henri...and how much he has grown!
