Henri's tubes...

Today was a big day. Henri has been having a terrible time with ear infections. Before Christmas...there was a period of time where he was on anti-biotics for months at a time. Not good. A few weeks ago, we saw a pediatric ENT at Nemours...and scheduled Henri to have tubes in his ears. When we went, he had a hearing test...and they could tell that his hearing was already affected. This morning, we woke up at 4:45 a.m. to make sure we had Henri at the hospital by 6 a.m. We had the procedure done at Arnold Palmer Hospital...and they were fantastic! Here are a few pics from our day.

Our little patient...all dressed in his hospital gown:

Henri and his daddy. He is such a daddy's boy these days! Because Jeff did his rotations at APH, the Anesthesiologist was fantastic! When she came into the room...she told us she was thinking about our case last night. As standard protocol...they give the patients a sedative before taking them to the OR. The down-side is that the sedative can cause irratability when they wake up. So...instead...she asked that Jeff gown up and walk Henri down to the OR. Then...they would just give him the mask, etc. from there. So nice of them to think of us...and Henri had such a great recovery. We were very thankful.

It was a long wait to get the process started.

Thankfully...the computer survived Henri's "gentle" hands. :)

Mom shared her new iPhone, so Henri could watch Sesame Street sing a few songs before the procedure.

Here he is...the happy, sleepy patient:

Everything went great. We brought him home...he slept...and then was back to his old self. We are hoping that once his ears clear...he might be a little quieter? :) That might be wishful thinking.

I couldn't post without one picture of little Sissy...who is becoming quite the little Sissy pants. She is walking everywhere...loves to mimic her brother, is absolutely in love with anything Mickey or Minnie Mouse, and is really showing her funny side. She is such a pleasant little sweetie...it's such a treat to watch her grow up.

Here is one of our favorite pics. As she continues to show her independence...she decided to crawl under the kitchen chairs. Then...realized she was trapped. In her mind, she thought she might just flop over the bar vs. going under. Unfortunately...we heard screams...and came to find this:

Never a dull moment. We'll post more soon...
